Today
July 30, 2007
Today is my birthday, yep, I am one year older now.
Ive been planning for one month for this that instead of going to the beach or damp myself in a cold / fresh resort – I went ‘malling’. No, I’m not mad, I even thank God that He made it rain today – this past few days it was hot as hell.
Anyway, strolled at the mall with my one and only One – still got the feeling of ecstasy whenever I am with her
Thanks to God.
Happy Birthday to me.
Just a shout out to my parents for doing ‘it’… hehehe
My one and only sister who is now working in Malaysia, my brothers back at Iligan, my lovely home – thanks for all the love and prayers.
My friends, colleagues and teammates – looking forward to have a another fruitful year with you.
To Audrey – my heart is yours.
I love you all.
Restoring GRUB loader after installing WinXP
July 28, 2007
There are times when we need to install window$$$ after a heart-aching / mind boggling crash (I dont even know why my PC did not load).
I have already installed Ubuntu on the other partition but after installing WinXP again.
The grub loader did not work – it loads the XP OS everytime I boot (so where is that damn grub loader?)
Googling it (thanks to Google) – I have the answer in no time, so Ill just show you the basic steps what I did:
Insert Ubuntu LiveCD (you must boot from this CD).
When you are inside Ubuntu – open up a terminal.
Type: sudo grub
Type: find /boot/grub/stage1 (this will return something like (hd0,1) – it depends)
Type: root (hd0,1)
Type: setup (hd0)
Exit from Ubuntu and reboot PC – the GRUB loader must come alive…
WinXP / Ubuntu – Dual Boot
July 28, 2007
There are lots of manuals / instructions / how-tos from respected websites regarding this.
I have read lots of them before attempting to get my PC ‘crushed’ but what the heck for the sake of experience – Ill do it anyway.
Although at first I thought it was very hard but the opposite is true.
What I did was:
Install XP (it was my existing OS so I havent installed from the start).
Insert the Ubuntu LiveCD and off you go… just follow the sirens.
The instructions/steps were not hard (just read with your mind open).
You will be asked to make a partition – this will be created from the existing FAT32 or NTFS partition you have (WinXP).
After you boot the PC, a menu will come up stating what OS you would like to use and from then on you will be asked to select everytime you boot.
Thats It.
Its Been A Long Time…
